Cite de La Musique

The Cité de la Musique was inaugurated in 1995. It is a place for communication and dialogue, encouraging access to culture for all through its concerts, museum and exhibitions, documentation centres and its educational and publishing activities aimed at both adults and young people.

At the Cité, so- called "learned" repertoires relate to all periods, from the Middle Ages to the present day. In parallel, the presence of world cultures and means of expression such as jazz and today's music in their own right provides a wider base for the Cité's artistic project.
