C and A

The big saga of C&A begins in Holland to the 19th century. To the era where the family Brenninkmeyer sells linen and textiles. The matters walk so well, in 1841 precisely, that the brothers Clemens and August Brenninkmeyer open a warehouse and are founded a commercial corporation to Sneek to the north of the Netherlands. The business C&A, Clemens & August, was born. This is the beginning of the success.

The openings of stores A warehouse, this is well. But stores, this is again better. Thus, twenty after the creation of the warehouse C&A, opens the first store C&A. In 1861, C&A look like a forerunner. Not only the two brothers be part of the pioneers of the off- the- rack clothes but what's more, their store offers to their wide clientele of the quality products to a reasonable price. The success does not be done to await. Of 1900 to 1911, a multitude of stores C&A bloom on the whole territory Dutch. Then all links very quickly: as early as 1911, the first stores C&A do their apparition in Germany; in 1922, they export themselves in Great Britain; then the European expansion continues to attain the Belgium in 1963, the France in 1972, the Switzerland in 1977, the Luxembourg in 1982, the Spain in 1983, the Austria in 1984, the Portugal in 1991, l'lrlande and the Czech Republic in 1999, the Poland in 2001 andIn 2002.
