Renting a Car in Paris

Tourists are often dissuaded from renting a car in Paris, unless they intend to drive from the city to a location on the city’s outskirts that cannot be reached by using the train.  The reasons for this are: 1) Paris traffic is too busy to navigate with patience; 2) parking fees for tourists are exorbitant.  Nonetheless, car rental service kiosks are available at the train stations and at the airports servicing Paris.

Getting a Taxi in Paris

In Paris, it is not a common practice to hail taxis from the street.  A passenger who wants a cab is better off going to taxi rails to board a taxi.  Also, taxis do not have standard colors.  They can only be identified by the sign on their roofs.
